Jockey Slut was an incredibly important magazine for me during the late 90s and early 00s. It fed all the best electronic and club music of the time to me in a way no other magazine could. When it folded in 2004, it not only left behind a huge void within that side of dance music life, but also broke up a great team of writers and musical minds who managed to turn me onto new music, each and every issue.
I credit them with giving me one of my first features back in 2000 when I was a resident at Trash (playing noisey indie guitar records and glam rock), long before being invited to play electronic music at parties such as Bugged Out!
THUMP just ran a piece on Jockey Slut, asked me and a bunch of friends some questions, here's the answers - Erol Alkan
