PH11 Brazilian artist Babe, Terror was introduced to Phantasy with two releases in quick succession, having been discovered at the time via Myspace. His unusual work was, at that point, unlike anything on the label so far. Indeed, it was much removed from almost anything anywhere, and still sounds utterly unclassifiable a decade later. Arriving on Phantasy with his debut single, ‘Summertime, Our League’ (PH11), the sometimes abstract music of Babe, Terror was investigated in depth and whipped into unexpected shapes by a golden class of remixers including Four Tet, Appleblim & Arkist.   It was released on 12” orange splatter...

Phantasy is approaching it's 100th single release. Initially founded in 2007, what began as a springboard for new artists has grown into something far more expansive. With so much to share on the near horizon, we're taking this opportunity to revisit each single release so far, counting forwards from our debut. It’s now been a year since Phantasy released Babe, Terror’s ‘Ancient M’ocean’; a full-length album and audio-visual experiment unlike anything the label had released before, and perhaps our most ambitious and outright unusual project to date. Taken from Beyond The Wizards Sleeve's acclaimed debut 'The Soft Bounce', we released two expansive remixes from the album by Daniel Avery and BTU - a collaboration between producers Babe, Terror and U. Two very distinct trips into the outer reaches of electronic sound.Avery ramps up the atmosphere of 'The Soft Bounce' with an airy, drifting electronic mantra, pulsing with gliding motorik propulsion perfect for late night escapades. On the flipside, BTU, take album closer 'Third Mynd' and recast it as a mind opening sixteen minute collage of found sound, drone and atmosphere, a psychedelic opus befitting Jon Savage's otherworldly speech.
