Announcing an exciting new signing to Phantasy, Houeida Hedfi presents her debut album, 'Fleuves de l'Âme'. Merging traditional Tunisian folk music with contemporary sound design, this elegant community collaboration was produced alongside Olof Dreijer of The Knife. 'Fleuves de l'Âme' is available to pre-order now on 12", CD and on limited-edition double blue vinyl from DINKED, including an accompanying artwork print, signed and hand-numbered by Houeida Hedfi.
Prior to the album’s release on 19th November, Phantasy/PIAS are pleased to present lead single 'Appel du Danube' on 12” vinyl and streaming, featuring a tarraxo and kuduro influenced remix from Nidia, a key member of Lisbon’s widely influential Principe collective.
Originally a percussionist, Hedfi first met Dreijer when he visited Tunisia and produced her contribution to a 2011 compilation of female Tunisian artists. This kindled a nine-year collaboration which culminates in Fleuves de l'Âme , an elegant marriage of traditional folk music and contemporary sound design drawing references from Hedfi’s drumming expertise and the textures of Tunisian music alongside a startlingly broad array of global genres.
